Bienvenue à Chambres Moulin Neuf

Chambres Moulin Neuf is located in a Maison de Maître built in the early 1900's on the bank of the Charente river in the historic market town of Civray in the Vienne district of central France. The main square, shops, cafes and local amenities are just a few minutes walk from the house.

Located a few kilometers off the RN10 almost equidistant between Poitiers to the north and Angoulême to the south, Civray provides both an excellent base to explore the wider region or a convenient stopping-off point for journeys further south to Spain and Portugal or north to Belgium, Holland and the United Kingdom.

Apart from Poitiers and Angoulême, which are both about one hours drive away, there are easy drives to Niort and onto the coast at La Rochelle to the west, Limoges to the east, and Cognac plus the major historic city of Bordeaux further south. There are also many interesting smaller towns and villages to explore in the area, including Ruffec, Melle, Confolens and Vivonne.

Our accommodation and facilities

Our rooms are available all-year-round from between one night and one month, though minimum stays of more than one night may apply during peak periods, public holidays and special events.

Dining room & guest kitchen

Guests are welcome to use our dining room and a small guest kitchen with a fridge and a microwave. Both rooms have coffee and tea making facilities provided. We feature some local products, which are also usually available to buy as gifts.

We do not provide meals, but brought-in "take away" meals may be eaten in the dining room - or garden in good weather!

Access

Rooms are accessed via the original central wooden staircase, which has 36 steps to the top floor and is 65cm wide. There are no disabled access facilities.

Pets

We have cats around the house and so welcome small or medium sized well-behaved and cat-friendly pets travelling with their owners. Due to access, the rooms are not suitable for larger pets.

Parking & EV Charging

There is unrestricted on-street parking in all the roads surrounding the property and public EV charging points in the car park immediately behind the market square less than five minutes walk away.

Bicycles & Motorbikes

We can usually offer secure storage in our rear garage and workshop area for bicycles and motorbikes – please enquire at time of booking.

Garden

Guests are welcome to sit out in our enclosed private garden, which has a small covered pagoda with river views, but please be respectful of our neighbours and the neighbourhood cats!

Our standard double room measuring 16 sqm plus private shower room and views over the front garden and the street.

Our queen sized double room measuring 20 sqm plus private shower room with double-aspect views over the garden and towards the river and nearby Grand Pont.

Our commitment to sustainability

Our electricity comes from a 100% green energy provider who sources the power from their local network of wind farms. We are currently seeking sustainable solutions for our other energy needs.

We provide facilities for guests to recycle packaging, food or other waste produced during their visit within the limits of the municipal recycling facilities provided by our local authority.

Wherever possible we buy from and support local producers and businesses and seek to maintain an ethical supply chain for all our purchases. We do not use businesses or services that are knowingly engaging in tax avoidance, environmental degradation or human and animal exploitation.
